Most Bolt Action players just don't think of Japanese motoring about the countryside in half tracks festooned with MMGs. I mounted my MGs behind the benches 1/3 and 2/3's of the way down on each side and one in the rear. (I still believe that the embarked squad could very easily have placed their LMG over the front armor piece for front arc fire.) I have also never found anything official, anywhere, about how many MG's were "standard" or where they went. No photo I have found shows MG mounts anywhere on the vehicle. I think somebody was just guessing. Either that or they were easily movable screw clamp type MG mounts and could be placed anywhere.
